New IL Licensees:
If NOT licensed previously & less than one year prior to
renewal deadline—No CE is required. Otherwise 6 hrs of CE is required, 3 of
those 6 hrs must be a core course.

Additional
Illinois Broker Requirements:
Recent changes in the Illinois Real Estate License Act of 2000 now require
all IL Brokers to complete this 6-hour continuing education course,
in addition to
the 12-hours of the current requirements by the renewal deadline of
4/30/08. Newly licensed IL Brokers are required to take this course within
the first 180 days from when their license was issued.
This course is intended to provide the knowledge and tools necessary to be
an effective real estate broker in the State of Illinois.
Course Outline:
Chapter 1—Real Estate Brokerage Licensing—10% of content
Chapter 2—Agency: Agreements and Issues—20%
Chapter 3—Escrow and Broker Responsibilities and Office Management—40%
Chapter 4—Risk Reduction—20%
Chapter 5—Disciplinary Actions—10%
Exam—50 questions
This 6-hour classroom continuing education course is delivered through a
combination of lecture, discussion, simulations, and small group formats.
There is
no
“grandfather” provision
in the law; therefore,
this course will be for all real estate brokerage licensees specifically
licensed as real estate brokers in Illinois. |
